What is the maximum size of a file that can be sent using FileCap?

FileCap has no limits when it comes to file size and so with FileCap, in theory, any file of any size can be sent. However, because we use the Amazon platform for our SaaS environment, there is still a limit to how large a single file sent with FileCap can be. This limit is 5TB (5 terabytes, which is approximately 5,000 gigabytes).

To put this in perspective a bit:

  • That's more than 1,000 DVDs
  • That's more than 2,400 hours of Full HD video
  • That's more than 1,000,000 photos of 12MP
  • That's more than 30 million Office documents

So this limit only applies to one file! If you want to send 20 files of 4TB each, you can just do that.

What is the difference between FileCap and WeTransfer?

The main difference for our customers is the fact that our cloud data always stays within Europe and is therefore not subject to the Patriot Act of the United States. In addition, there are a number of other important differences, such as a simple pricing model with no additional fees for extra features, the "invite function" that allows you to ask someone to send you something and for example and, of course, the Outlook and Office 365 add-ins.

WeTransfer is aimed primarily at content creators such as advertising agencies, media and design agencies and video platforms. FileCap focuses primarily on companies that want to exchange (large) files in a secure way. Of course with FileCap you can easily send any large file, but the extra security options and integration in Microsoft Outlook, make our solution a business application for any company that wants to send sensitive data securely.
